Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Stretch Mark Removal

PRP in aesthetic medicine is an exciting avenue that has produced tremendous results for clients looking to achieve a smooth and stretch mark free appearance. The platelets induce massive fibroblasts which are cells found in skin that act as soldiers in the battle against damaged skin tissue. Platelets release growth factors that work to eliminate necrotic tissue and boost cell regeneration. Growth factors (bioactive proteins) attract macrophages which are large white blood cells that eat up cellular debris and produce stem cells for tissue repair and ultimately stretch mark repair. Clients looking to improve stretch marks benefit from the tissue renegeration that PRP offers.

All PRP is Not Created Equal. The technique used for isolating and concentrating platelets has a direct impact on growth factor availability and functionality.

Test tube systems, Lab centrifuges and many other so called “PRP” systems fail to achieve the threshold of platelet concentration and white blood cell composition required.

At Bellair Laser Clinic we use the Harvest PRP with SmartPrep System which consistently and reproducibly generates the optimal platelet concentration that may help optimize the conditions for healing. We also use the PRP Pen at Bellair Laser Clinic which is able to micro needle the area creating an even disbursement of plasma in the treatment zones. The microscopic punctures create a funnel to receive the plasma serum and a channel through which collagen can be formed for tighter and smoother skin or stretch marks.

PRP FAQs

No. Immediate swelling and wound healing are obvious at first sight. However, collagen rejuvenation can take from 6 weeks depending on the condition of your skin and lifestyle. More then one treatment will be necessary if the skin is mature.
Prior to treatment a simple blood sample of 10 – 20 mls is extracted from the patient. This blood is immediately placed in the centrifuge for 5 – 8 minutes. When centrifugation is complete your plasma will be separated from your red blood cells. The rich platelets are extracted from the base of the plasma gel. The platelets are injected into the deep dermis or fat layer of the skin. Platelets gradually increase collagen which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin.
Redness, swelling, slight pain, bruising or all these signs can happen in the treatment area. These side effects usually subside in a few hours to a few days. Post care instructions will need to be followed through. Most clients return to work immediately.
Bellair Laser Clinic has specialized nurses which perform PRP. We use the Harvest SmartPrep Multicellular Processing System which enables us to prepare the PRP prodcut with the highest concentration and yield of platelets when compared to 12 other systems. This means a greater number and quality of platelets and in turn superior results.
