Thermage Cellulite Treatment

Thermage is FDA-approved for the temporary treatment of cellulite on both the face and body. It has also received approval for the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Thermage employs capacitive radiofrequency (CRF) energy to break down and shrink the fat cells responsible for visible cellulite. According to its maker, Thermage is capable of smoothing out cellulite dimples, improving wrinkles, and promoting the growth of new collagen — the protein responsible for skin’s strength and elasticity.

What Can I Expect During a Thermage Treatment?

The Thermage treatment is prefaced by the administration of a pain medication — just enough to ensure that you are effectively comfortable during your procedure. Your doctor will then cleanse your skin before applying the Thermage instrument to your skin. You may feel some mild soreness as the radiofrequency energy begins to heat your skin, but a built-in cooling device will keep the heat at a tolerable level.A Thermage treatment can take anywhere from thirty minutes to several hours depending on how large of an area is being treated, but most people only require a single treatment.

When Will I See Results from Thermage?

Thermage only takes one treatment, but it takes several months to see full results. This is because your body needs time to heal and repair itself after treatment. Some patients may also experience swelling, redness, mild blistering, bumps, or other minor side effects. These will disappear within just a few days.

Grades Of Cellulite

Cellulite consists of the dimpled appearance of skin caused by fat deposits that are just beneath the skin. It generally appears on skin in the abdomen, lower limbs, and pelvic region. Most often, cellulite manifests itself in adult life on many areas of the body.

Cellulite is located at the subcutaneous fatty layer. There are 3 different grades of cellulite:

Grade 1 classification sees no clinical symptoms, but a microscopic examination of cells from the area detects underlying anatomical changes.

Grade 2 cellulite requires the skin to show pallor (pastiness), be lower temperature, and have decreased elasticity in addition to anatomical changes noted by microscopic examinations.

Grade 3 cellulite has visible roughness of the skin (like an orange peel) along with all grade 2 signs.

If you think you have some form of cellulite, we at Bellair Laser Clinic can help starting with a complimentary consultation, followed by carboxytherapy and the Spa RF cellulite treatment for great results.

Chemical Peel FAQs

After receiving a chemical peel, avoid sun exposure as much as possible when healing. Do not pick or peel the skin as these actions can cause scarring. Avoid excessive exercise for 24-48 hours post treatment as well.
The number of treatments varies from individual to individual depending on the condition treated and purpose for treatment. For corrective procedures, 6 treatments are typical spaced approximately 2-4 weeks apart. For maintenance programs, sensitive skins/Rosacea sufferers, or anti-aging remedies, peels may be scheduled every 28 days apart depending on the intensity of the peel.
Alphahydroxy acids are water soluble acids which have been used for years for skin rejuvenation. These are naturally occurring acids found in fruits and other foods. They are used in many concentrations, however, commonly used to formulate the lightest of peels. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin. AHA peels may be used to treat fine lines, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne.
Most clients describe the treatment as manageable or tolerable. Some discomfort or feeling of heat is expected. Pain medication may be used prior to treatment but it is not required.
