Face Spider Vein Removal in Toronto

Dilated capillaries are often provoked by sun exposure, pressure, hormonal changes and heredity, to name some common influences. Some individuals develop a red flushed complexion due to over use or abuse of harsh skin care products while others develop red broken capillaries around the nose due to aggressive extraction. Although the exact cause is often unknown, these spider veins can be effectively treated with the appropriate techonology.

Spider veins are thin superficial capillaries most commonly seen on the face. They can appear as red or purple in colour and as strands or clusters. We have 2 great treatments for facial telangiectasia: laser spider vein removal with the Coolglide laser and photorejuvenation.

The Coolglide Laser For Facial Veins

The CoolGlide laser targets only the hemoglobin in the vessel while protecting the surrounding skin by means of a unique integrated contact cooling hand piece. The targeted spider vein is thermally coagulated causing it to collapse and forcing your body to absorb and repair the area. Spider veins on the face and neck are vessels which are no longer useful to the skin.

Photorejuvenation For Superficial Facial Veins

Photo Rejuvenation or photorejuvenation (also known as photofacials) with the LimeLight effectively treats red dyschromia such as facial telangiectasia while improving the skin’s texture and tone. The LimeLight Photo rejuvenation system is the first light based, 3 in 1 programmable wavelength device for skin rejuvenation. This programmable wavelength capability allows us to accurately target your skin concern revealing visible results in as little as 1-3 treatments spaced at 4 weeks apart.

Immediately following your photofacial, photorejuvenation or photo rejuvenation treatment, brown spots/discolourations will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly pink. This typically lasts a few hours to possibly a few days. During a time span of one to three weeks post your photofacial treatment, the facial telangiectasia will disappear as the intense pulse light coagulates these tiny little vessels prompting the body to eliminate these tiny veins through its natural healing process. Photo rejuvenation for facial spider veins is suitable for skin types I to III.

The Photorejuvenation Procedure

When you come in for your first photo rejuvenation or photorejuvenation treatment, we will begin by cleansing the skin. The face is mapped out or divided in small sections to ensure even coverage. Goggles are placed over the client’s eyes for safety. A thin layer of gel is applied to the skin. The photo rejuvenation hand piece is applied to the skin one pulse at a time. You will feel a sharp pinch with every photorejuvenation pulse.

Before beginning face telangiectasia treatments at Bellair Laser Clinic, we encourage all clients to visit us for a complimentary photo rejuvenation skin consultation. At this time we will analyze your skin and provide recommendations for which treatments are best for you based on your skin’s needs and your personal goals for your skin. We have a variety of treatments for skin discolouration and are therefore able to provide the best possible results for sun spots of brown spots.
